Privacy
I Know That Movie keeps simple, anonymous statistics so we can see how the site is used and improve the questions. We don't use cookies, we don't use advertising or tracking services, and we don't collect anything that identifies you.
What we count
- Which pages are opened, and the website that linked here, if any.
- The general type of device (phone, tablet, computer, or TV) and your time zone, but not your location.
- For the pre-show: which level is playing, roughly how long it stays on screen, and whether full screen or the share button is used.
- For solo play: rounds started and finished, scores, and whether each answer was right or wrong, so we can tell which questions are easier or harder than we thought.
- How often the Support links are followed or the pre-show's support QR code is scanned, and which of them was used.
Tips
Tips are handled by Ko-fi, a separate service with its own privacy policy. We never see your payment details, and nothing from Ko-fi is loaded on this site until you choose to visit it.
What we don't keep
- We never store your IP address.
- To count visitors without cookies, each day we combine your IP address and browser with a random value that's thrown away the next day. The result can't be turned back into your IP address, and it can't connect today's visit to tomorrow's.
- Nothing is stored on your device for statistics. Solo scores and recently seen questions are saved only in your own browser and never sent to us.
- The statistics are never sold or shared.
Opting out
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, no statistics are sent at all.
Statistics are kept for about 13 months, then deleted.
