How to participate and reply to the quizzes?

To participate just follow @iknowthatmovie on Twitter. You will see the quizzes appear in your timeline (when you click home on Twitter).

Whenever a quiz is launched, you’ll see a tweet from @iknowthatmovie in this format:

When you click on the link you will come to this blog, to the quiz post, and there you’ll see the image or hear the music from the movie you have to guess. For that quiz, clicking the link would lead you to this page:

If you know the answer and are sure of the title (check in www.imdb.com because only correct titles will be considered), you must click where it says “Click to give your answer to this quiz!”. By doing that you’ll go to your Twitter’s home page and the tweet you have to make to try to win the quiz is already prepared:

You just have to write the title of the movie at the end of the tweet and click update:

That’s it! You made your guess! Just remember that you shall maintain the text that is already in the tweet. For example, the hashtag (in this case #iktm76 – it’s always #iktm plus the number of the quiz)  identifies the quiz you are answering to and it permits to search for all tweets related to a quiz.

2 – How to see who won a particular quiz?

If you made the tweet giving your answer to the quiz, your work is done. Well… if you’re not sure you can keep tweeting other guesses. As long as you put in each tweet only a movie title, you can give as many answers as you like. But after you have made your guesses it’s just a matter of waiting. The first correct answer wins and I’ll announce it as soon as possible. You can see all the answers to the quiz in the page “The Eye” that shows the same information you would get by searching on Twitter for iknowthatmovie:

This way you can also see if you were quick enough to be the first correct reply or not. The tweets are shown in the order they arrived to their server.

As soon as possible, I’ll make a tweet announcing the winner as in this example:

The link in the tweet redirects you to the quiz page where in the comment section the winner is also announced and the answer to the quiz is revealed.

If you click on the winner’s name, you’ll go to the tweet he made that won the quiz (the first tweet with a correct answer). If you click the name of the movie, you’ll go to the IMDB page of that film.

That quiz also gets the tag of the winner so a useful map like this is permanently being constructed.

Those who have guessed more quizzes have their names bigger. If you click in one name you’ll see all the quizzes that person has won.

After a quiz is won and the winner announced, if you want to congratulate  him, say something like “try not to be so fast next time:)”, “grrrrhhh! you again!” or just talk with this interesting community about that film, please use the hashtag of that quiz (#iktmXX, being XX the number of the quiz). That way we all can search for that hashtag and participate in the discussion about that quiz.
